According to a book review posted by a job seeker
on Monster.com,
“My resume was getting me a foot in the door, but I was not interviewing well so
I bought Boost Your Interview IQ. The book arrived the day after I found out
that I had a chance to interview at the top company in the area. The end result
was that after two rounds of interviews - I GOT THE JOB! The HR director told me
that while they were amazed by how many qualified candidates they had, I stood
out because it was clear how much homework I had done. I credit the book with
giving me an excellent framework to focus my time and energy where it would
really pay off.”
Boost Your Interview IQ is able to deliver
results like this to many job seekers because it includes a step-by-step guide
and a skill-building workbook to prepare for and succeed at any job interview.
The book:

skill-building exercises, and other interview aptitude boosting tools.
Shows job seekers how to craft job-winning
answers to the 50 key questions interviewers ask.
Teaches candidates how to shape their experiences
into stories that showcase their skills, knowledge, and personalities.
Offers proven techniques for acing the behavioral
interview--the popular new wave interviewing strategy.
"I just landed a job with my dream company and
wanted to pass along a recommendation for a great way to prepare for your
interviews. My job search was pretty slow - between the bad economy and the fact
that I moved to a relatively small city and was trying to change industries. My
resume was getting me a foot in the door, but I just hadn't been able to sell my
career change, etc. in the interview process. Recently, I heard Carole Martin
(Monster Interview Coach) interviewed on a radio show - I liked her approach and
the specific advice she gave to callers, so I bought her new book "Boost Your
Interview IQ". The book arrived the day after I found out that I had a chance to
interview at the top company in the area. I had 3 days to prepare and spent all
of my time following every bit of advice in the book - regarding how to craft
responses to common interview questions and build story examples of work
experience. It is the most focused approach I have ever seen. I did a lot of
research about the company and industry and was able to use the approach in the
book to build my answers to best showcase my skills and experience and knowledge
around what they were looking for. The end result was that after two rounds of
interviews - I GOT THE JOB! I started this past week and the HR director told me
that while they were amazed by how many really qualified candidates they had - I
stood out from the rest because it was clear how much "homework" I had done to
really understand their business. While I worked hard to prepare, I credit the
book with giving me an excellent framework to focus my time and energy where it
would really pay off. I recommend this book to anyone that is in the interview
process! "

"The dreaded job interview — having to attend one can be quite draining. Most
people experience one at least once in their working life. It is part of the
hiring cycle.
What a lot of job seekers lack is the skill set required to sell themselves. An
interview is a two-way street. It is an exchange of information and ideas with
the aim of impressing each other.
This can be a daunting task from both sides of the table. Both parties need to
be aware of what is required from the process, to achieve success. It is not
easy to do this but the aim of an interview is to obtain a successful outcome.
All
people seeking employment can learn how to improve their interview skills.
Techniques are available that will help to improve their prospects of getting
jobs. Carole Martin's book is an excellent source to guide people in the right
direction.
Full of valuable information, the book will add immense value to a person's
armory in the quest for a job. It is a book I strongly recommend to every job
seeker.

From IT Professional,
I had
an interview with ADP just recently because HR found my resume online and gave
me a chance to be interviewd. I am so happy that I was able to apply everything
I have learned from the seminar I had with you a month ago. The IT manager was
so impressed that aside from being astounded by my English (not to mention I am
Filipina and just been here for 5 years), but with how I answered his questions.
I felt equally comfortable talking to him. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job
because I was overqualified but I am glad that I did get through that interview
leaving a great impression to ADP. At least, after so many years, I have
experienced how it is being interviewed again. I am looking forward to my
interviews in the future.
More
powers and have a nice holiday!
Sincerely, Layra

"Dear Carole, I want to tell you how much I appreciate you helping me with my
interview style. Watching myself interviewing revealed how I'm seen and the
impression I leave others. Thanks to you, I learned about what engages the
interviewer and how I need to keep the focus on myself. Thank you also for the
insight of how to structure my stories to highlight my skills. I can't thank you
enough for your valuable time and advice. I hope to have the opportunity to work
with you again in the future."
